If you have an unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loan or Federal PLUS loan, and need to reduce or postpone payments, you may be eligible for a deferment or forbearance.
Forbearance Forms
If you need to reduce payments on your loan due to unexpected personal problems or poor health and you don't qualify for a deferment, you may be eligible for forbearance. Contact your lender to obtain the appropriate forbearance form.

Forgiveness Forms
Most borrowers of federal education loans must repay the full amount that they borrowed plus interest. Borrowers in certain occupations, however, may qualify for loan forgiveness.
