Preparing

No matter what your career goals are, there are things you can do-academically and non-to make yourself more attractive to future employers and the college admissions board. Both employers and college admissions professionals look to see how well rounded you are.

Academically, while there are specific curriculum requirements you must meet, colleges will look to see that you've challenged yourself. Striving for the honor roll is a good idea, but so is taking more challenging classes.

Grades aren't the only criteria for getting into college or getting a job. Leadership, school, community, and volunteer activities will teach you skills that will be valuable in the future. Jobs and internships can help you "try-out" a potential career while you earn money and experience for college.
