"I am happy and honored to have been selected the winner of one of the monthly $1,000 2Futuro scholarships,” said Mayra Alvarez. The first in her family to attend college, Mayra plans to give back to the community by continuing her education and receiving a master’s degree in social work. “This scholarship will help me pay for registration fees and textbooks, and will allow me to start the next semester in a more comfortable financial situation," she said.
